Program Description:
This course will survey and investigate biological processes at the levels of organism, population, community, and biosphere, emphasizing the relationship of thesetrop bio processes to the tropical latitudes.  This course will guide students through a comparative study of major tropical plants, animals and biomes, and examine the essential principles of tropical ecology and conservation biology.  This course travels to and is delivered in Costa Rica and Panama.

Faculty Biography:

Erik Lindquist is a Professor of Biology and Environmental Science at Messiah College. In additional to facilitating global engagement in in students, he is a devoted amphibian conservationist and tropical ecologist. Erik is a “global soul,” having extensive experience in research, teaching and service in Central and South America, Southeast Asia, East Africa and the South Pacific. His core instructional philosophy pushes him to actively construct visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning spaces for his students.
